If you’ve been following Nando’s Creativity for any length of time, you’ll know that we are BIG on the benefits of creativity! Creativity doesn’t only offer exciting career prospects for professionals. It also boosts mental well-being by reducing stress, enhancing problem-solving skills, and fostering self-expression for anyone who gives it a go (whether you rate your creations as hot or not!). It’s not about the output; it’s about the process. Creativity promotes joy and can help you to connect with yourself and others in meaningful ways.
Here are some ideas to get you creating this holiday season:
Create outdoors:Take advantage of the warm weather and sketch or paint outside.

Culinary artistry:Experiment with seasonal fruits and flavours in your cooking, baking, or cocktails. Jazz up your festive plates with some Nando’s PERi-PERi, host a festive season home version of Come Dine With Me with friends, or set up a mixology station and create cocktails or mocktails.
Themed creative challenges:Set yourself a festive creativity challenge, like designing 12 unique gifts (art, crafts, or poetry) for friends and family.
Collaborative creating:Host a “create-together” day where friends or family join you to collaborate on a mural, a short film, or a song inspired by the joys of summer festivities. Or you can create individually, but in the same space.
DIY decorations:Make your own festive decorations using natural materials like shells, driftwood, stones or seedpods.

Creative journaling:Start a journal. Use it to write reflections, doodle, or paste in dried flowers and leaves collected from nature walks.
Festive photography walks:Go on a walk with a camera or phone and capture the festive atmosphere around you, whether it’s Christmas lights or the art in your local Nando’s Casa.
Storytelling circles:Gather friends or family for an evening of storytelling. Share tales, invent new ones, or write them down for a keepsake.
Music or dance jams:Experiment with creating music or dance routines that reflect the festive spirit.
